ZenMate is a VPN made in Germany (specifically Berlin.) Initially, ZenMate VPN was a proxy service that operated as a browser extension. Nowadays, Zen Mate has become one of the best VPN on the market even though very simple to use. Our ZenMate review will bring to your attention the pros and cons of this VPN that is currently focused on improving, even more, its service and expand its global presence.
Pricing and Plans
ZenMate pricing starts at $10.99 billed monthly, within the typical $10-$13 range we see with most providers.
There’s no six-month ZenMate VPN Ultimate plan any more, and annual prices are now an effective $4.49 a month, up from $3.33 during our last review.
If you’re thinking that’s a little more than you’d like to pay, no problem: ZenMate’s three-year plan is considerably cheaper at a tiny $1.64 a month.
Pros and cons
PROS:
7-day free trial
No limit on simultaneous connections
Cheap three-year plan
Unblocks Netflix, Disney+
CONS:
Short on features
Below-par support site
Doesn’t unblock BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime Video
Apps aren’t updated often
ZenMate VPN Security
One thing we appreciated is that finally with the launch of ZenMate 5.0 you can now select the protocol you want. The lack of this option was not really tolerable!
The VPN uses AES 256 CBC with 2048 RSA to encrypt traffic and you can choose between OpenVPN, 1Kev2, and L2TP protocols.
Customer Support
At the moment, customers can only connect to the ZenMate customer support staff through email. The support personnel offer responses in less than a span of 24 hours.
ZenMate Review Conclusion
Overall, this VPN looks very good, especially for those who do not care about complicated features that give much control of the VPN.
